A little about myselfAfter spending all my working life as a graphic designer, art director, visualiser and marketing consultant, I am now enjoying a more relaxed lifestyle, painting and sketching around my local area. Living on the edge of Loughborough, I have a great affinity with the local landscape and like to capture images of both pastoral and urban scenes and the local landscapes that present themselves. The places where countryside meets community, architecture and urban life impacts upon nature are of particular interest. I recently had work exhibited at the Sock Open Exhibition in Loughborough Town Hall and in Newarke House, Leicester amongst other Leicester Sketch Club members. My latest project involves travelling around England with my wife, Rita, visiting and sketching ancient cathedrals This is teaching us a lot about cathedrals themselves; but also the history, architecture, the people who belong to them, their ancestors, heraldry and so much more. This Pilgrimage culminated in Easter 2020 with an exhibition at the Sock Gallery at the Town Hall, Loughborough. Cover 19 pandemic forced the exhibition to close almost immediately after the preview shows over that first weekend and the Sock has remained closed to the public until further notice. We hope you will come and see what we have been up to once the gallery has reopened. Our paintings are still hanging in the gallery a year later. The Sock has now reopened with our exhibition until 22 July 2021 on weekdays only from 9am – 3pm. Take a look here at some of the launch photos and images of the paintings. |
